Located about 30 minutes from the center of Hakata, Aburayama is a popular destination for those looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The site is amid a relaunch which began in April 2023 to bring people back to nature. With a camping ground, hiking trails, a farm and more, Aburayama has plenty of fun for visitors of all ages.
From Farm to Table

Making its debut in September 2023, Shiiji Farm is all about getting back to the earth when it comes to thinking about and consuming the food we eat. Overlooking Fukuoka City, this farm has several paid experiences all year round. Depending on when you visit, you’ll be able to harvest a variety of vegetables, including carrots and snap peas in the spring, tomatoes and eggplants in the summer, sweet potatoes and green onions in the fall and spinach and daikon (Japanese white radish) in the winter. Reward your hard work by hand-making a pizza topped with your harvest and baking it in the stone kiln on site.

In partnership with the outdoor lifestyle brand, Snow Peak, Aburayama has a vast area reserved for camping. The grounds offer several packages to choose from depending on the size of your party and your camping experience. Beginners and families may want to choose a place equipped with electricity while couples or those going alone might be interested in the Solo Camp Site. Equipment rental is available, as well as facilities such as toilets, kitchens, showers and garbage disposal.

Aburayama has several attractions that are slated to open in the fall of 2023 that will get you working up a sweat. In Forest Adventure, children and adults will be able to play above the forest. Whether you’re making your way across nets suspended three to eight meters or flying through the forest on a zip line 100 meters up, you’ll have a great view of the surrounding nature and everyone below. If mountain biking is your go-to sport or you’re curious to give it a try, head over to Trail Adventure which offers riders of all levels a variety of courses. Integrated into the natural terrain of the forest, Trail Adventure is a great way to explore the flora and fauna. Adventurous riders can try out the black course for a challenging experience.
